Red Carpet Ready- A Night Out in Hollywood

This beaded crop top from ANGL, Huntington Beach and these high-waisted black shorts from Urban Outfitters combine to make a versatile outfit that is glam in the daytime, but still radiant at night! If you want to dress it up a little more, add a pair of strappy black heels to your nighttime look. Either way, you're ready for the stars!

This black vintage satchel with frayed detailing is convenient and trendy- and the perfect size to fit your wallet, phone and camera while sight-seeing (or celeb-stalking)!
In these parts of town, you need to dress to impress! The photos above were taken at the premiere of "This Means War," starring Tom Hardy, Chris Pine, and Reese Witherspoon at the Grauman Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA.  Chelsea Handler, who also had a role in the film, and a handful of other starlets made an appearance as well. Even Kristin Cavallari emerged from The Hills to show off her new baby bump. In the background, you can see the Red Carpet where they made their entrance, as well as the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Here's a little sneak peak of the celebs in the limelight:

Rags Or Riches?

Fashion is an art, an expression. It requires no extravagancies. Brand named clothing is nice, but let's face it... It is a privileged wallet that can afford a designer wardrobe. Don't get me wrong, if I could, I would be wearing this season's Louboutins in my sleep. However, times are hard and my education has to take precedence over my closet (unfortunately). Instead, I satisfy my fashion craze with cute, affordable finds from less upscale stores such as Urban Outfitters, H&M, and Forever 21. In fact, most of my wardrobe is made up of apparel from these three retailers. But how, you may ask, do I manage to stand out when I shop at such mainstream stores? It's called taking risks. Every store has something that is a bit risky; just a little more edgy than everything else on the racks. Find the clothing that you think no one else would wear, and then flaunt it with a mask of confidence. When I first emerge from my dorm room in the morning after trying on a new outfit, I like to pretend that I am Serena Van Der Woodsen (for all of you Gossip Girl fans out there), and adopt a high-class attitude about what I am wearing. I stand tall, look ahead, and walk with self-assured strides. The key is not to fidget, self-guess, or play with your clothes. If you look uncomfortable, everyone can tell. I am no stranger to the phrase, "only YOU could pull that off!" And it is because I take risks consistently. You can't be Lady Gaga one day and then Taylor Swift the next. Your fashion sense begins to become an identity, and can help you to better understand yourself as an individual. It is up to you whether you are the average sweatshirt-clad student or the campus fashionista. Which would you choose?

xoxo,
